Executive Headteacher's Welcome Statement

Welcome to Thomas Boughey Nursery School website. Our website is intended to let you know more about the life and work of our Nursery School. We are a Local Authority 45 place Nursery School and we are located in the Thomas Boughey Children’s Centre.

The school is underpinned by our School Values:

Responsibility
Enjoyment
Sharing
Parents
Enthusiastic
Caring
Trust

We are an inclusive and nurturing school where pupils feel safe, happy, secure and ready to learn to achieve their very best. We recognise all pupils as individuals and their needs come first in all we do. We believe that pupils achieve their very best when school and home work in partnership.

In September 2015, the school federated with Etruscan Primary School and St Mark’s C of E (A) Primary School and we now share one governing body. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.

Keeping under fives safe online (ChildNet)

Ofcom research in 2016 showed that almost 40% of 3-4 year olds and two thirds of 5-7 year olds go online. We know that children need support in these environments, to get the best out of using the internet, and there are real advantages in making sure that children are supported in their internet use right from the start.

ChildNet has prepared a pdf guide for the parents of under-7s to help them think about the issues involved. You can download it here: Keeping Under Fives Safe Online.

Keeping Children Safe Online (for parents) (NSPCC)

The NSPCC have drawn together lots of advice for parents, including Being Share Aware, MineCraft Safety Advice, and how to stay safe using apps. The information can be found here:

Parents' Online Safety Helpline (NSPCC)

Parents can also contact the free NSPCC Online Safety Helpline with questions about parental controls or concerns about a social network their children are using on 0808 8005002.
